Just a quick reminder for those who use Ancestry.com and don't find their location in the drop down list and they know it has to be there.

Divorces Recorded in the Kentucky Acts 1795-1850
Just a little discovery for those with Kentucky ancestors.
Indexes to Divorces Recorded in the Kentucky Acts 1795-1850
Divorces could also be at the county level as well.

Commissioner Astrue's SSDI Comments
For those who have used the Social Security Death Index in the regular course of their research, this is what the Social Security Administration Commissioner had to say about genealogists and access to the death index.
He is suggesting that maybe waiting 10 or 75 years for "over-reacting" genealogists to access the information is appropriate.

Getting to the 1840 Census Images on Archive.org
This was posted to the Rootdig.com blog, but I thought I'd post it here for those who don't subscribe to that. It is a quick tutorial on using the free 1840 census index on FamilySearch and then using the free digital copies of microfilm at Archive.org. http://rootdig.blogspot.com/2012/02/getting-from-familysearchs-1840-census.html
