Using Google Docs for Your Online Research Log?

Have you thought about using Google Docs to maintain and save your online research log? You could access it whenever you were on the web.

Capture That Web Page

Web pages can change in an instant. How are you capturing that information you obtained online? Are you using a Facebook status as evidence of a marriage for a cousin? Consider taking a screen shot or something as "proof."

If the marriage goes under, the status update may be pulled and your "proof" right along with it.

Blogging Tip on Making Tables

If you have a blog and have difficulty making tables in Blogger, make a table in Word, get it the way you like it.

Then copy and paste it into your Blogger edit window.

Much easier.

Don't forget to search for your female ancestors at the BLM site http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/. They may have applied for bounty land as a widow or filed a federal land claim in their own name. Don't forget the female half of your ancestry.
