Office of the Historian of the United States Department of State

Need to brush up on your US history, particularly wars with other nations, boundary disputes, and thte like. The Office of the Historian of the United States Department of State has an excellent page with events, dates, and other information.

Never hurts to brush up on your history.

  1. Great site Michael. Thanks for posting. It always helps to brush up on history when searching for ancestors. In fact, I get so caught up in the history that my research sometimes moves slowly!!!

  3. Thanks for the comments, ladies. There's a lot of interesting reading here. If nothing else, a relative might have been involved in a military unit and the "common person" was often impacted by these historical events in ways that aren't "nationally important," but certainly were important to them.
